Medical tourism is a fairly new term used to describe an amazing amount of people globally that travel world-wide for health care. Why these people travel and for what differs, but basically there are two types of medical tourists the regular tourist that adds a visit to the doctor for some minor treatment, as part of his or her holiday, and the tourist travelling primarily for medical treatment.
Before there even was a term ‘medical tourism’, it was common practice among the well-to-do in third-world countries to travel to the USA, Switzerland and Germany for medical care. However, since the year 2000, this trend has been reversed and now countries such as Thailand, are attracting patients from the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom.
This new market has grown as modern health care systems all over the world are struggling to meet the medical needs of their own populations. In the United States, the price of health care is beyond the means of most and there are an estimated 40 million people without health insurance. While in Britain, Canada and Holland, socialised health care ensures affordability, demand for medical services far outstrips supply and waiting lists for surgical procedures or specialty medicine can be as long as two-to-three years.
Today, governments, insurers and employers are carefully looking at outsourcing medical treatments as a way to improve access and lower health care costs for their citizens, policy-holders and employees.
Thailand’s health care services are about one-half the cost of similar services in Singapore, one-third the cost of Hong Kong and one-tenth the cost in the United States.
Who are the medical tourists and what are they coming for?
By and large, medical tourists are travelling for specialty surgical and medical services. The recent upsurge in the popularity of plastic surgery, however, has led to a new wave of medical tourists and headlines like “Sun, sea and surgery” or “Scalpel tourism” have helped create the buzz for this growing phenomenon. Medical tourism destinations, such as Thailand, promote the benefit of high-quality medical care as just one more reason to visit the kingdom.
Elective out-patient procedures like check-ups, dental care, and LASIK eye surgery are becoming increasingly popular and there is a growing interest on the part of the tourism industry to include these services as part of their travel packages. Higher intensity medical services, like spinal and cardiac surgery, pose a greater challenge because these medical services are not as easily packaged and require significantly more knowledge about medicine.
Bumrungrad Hospital, located in central Bangkok, is a major player in the medical tourism field in Thailand, attracting over 360,000 international patients every year from over 150 countries worldwide. But Bumrungrad is not alone. There are quite a few other hospitals in Thailand and also in out-lying regions that are aggressively marketing their hospitals to capture a slice of this fast growing market. Both Bumrungrad Hospital and the India-based Apollo Hospital were recently featured on the CBS award winning news program “60 Minutes” as medical tourism destinations for a growing number of Americans.
Reliable figures on the size and growth of medical tourism are hard to come by, as government and immigration statistics do not yet categorize inbound travellers coming for medical care. That said, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is actively promoting medical tourism as medical tourists on average spend more and stay longer than leisure travellers.
So, whether you are the casual visitor that will take advantage of some minor medical work while in Thailand, or you are planning your vacation around your surgery, Thailand is the place to go and get it done professionally and at an extremely good price.

Sacreeta here, and no its not a joke..
There has been sex slave ring operators posting casting call ads on Online Modeling and Talent Agency Websites!
In regards to online casting, and the partaking in these sites. I just want everyone to tread with caution when transacting, as in posting, and submitting to auditions, on any online site. I will post a link at the bottom of this note, that no one should miss seeing.
There are not only potential scammers who are after your money posting on these sites, but also people who are out to do you physical harm. They are shopping for beautiful people to lure as escorts, or sell on the black market as sex slaves. Yes, that is happening across the United States. There are some warning signs well explore in a minute..
But first, ask yourself this question.
What if someones child was next? Parents also go on these sites, post pictures, names, addresses of their children on these sites for all the strangers to view. If you know of any parents who post on these sites, please tip them off about what you are about to read.
Online casting sites have no powers that be, to guarantee your safety, other than post their own warnings to their actors to tread with caution, and they do their best to ensure the postings are legit. They are no more capable of tracking than a local news paper.
Regardless, like the rest of the world, there is a reality of danger there, and it is a potential problem. What better way for a con, to go shopping, than post a fake audition, sift through pictures, and pick the people they plan to sell. And on some of these sites, to gain attention, the women will upload inappropriate pictures of themselves. And its not rocket science folks, everyone knows a full body nude photo is not a HEAD shot, it is explained on ALL the sites what a headshot is, and a serious CD (casting) will only be interested in an 8′10 headshot only. The nude full body will certainly draw attention. But it makes one wonder, are they aware of what type of attention they will draw?
Kristin Stinar (KSTP Investigative Reporter) has been investigating a story about a ring who was posting fake casting call ads with an online modeling and talent agency, New Line Cinema. And she so far has covered two relating stories. Apparently one of the actors was from the Midwest, she had posted her resume and photo on the site, and thought the casting company seemed legitimate.
After a friendly invite by the casting company, she traveled to New York at her own expense, for the audition. She wasnt familiar with the area, so she had, luckily for her quick thinking, invited a male employee from the hotel to accompany her. She really felt she needed a bodyguard, as she was uneasy being in a big city like New York all alone. She also, went to scope out the agency prior to her appointment with her male escort. (Lucky for her the employs from the hotel was a decent mantrusting a total stranger.. thats another story now isnt it?)
She arrived at her destination, and discovered it was in an industrial area, and the office was in fact a real estate office. (How many real-estate offices are located in an industrial area.. honestly?) And the people working the real estate office had never heard of the casting company, and had no idea what she was talking about. One thing she knew for sure, was that if she had gone on time, and alone.. she would have been in serious trouble. The logical conclusion to she, and Kristin Stinar, was that she was either going to be robbed, or killed, or kidnapped. She feels very strongly that because she brought a male escort, the kidnappers would have seen her from the parking lot, and changed their minds. It saved her life.
Later KSTP reporter Kristin Stinar investigated and found out the ad was placed by a person who posed as someone from New Line Cinema, and that the imposter worked for a family business that deals in white slavery. Stinar said she spoke to this person herself, and that the person admitted to using online modeling and talent agencies to lure young women to an audition site, where theyre kidnapped, stripped of their identification, and shipped overseas to work in the sex slave trade. The woman also told Kristin that she intended to use some of the women as escorts, and if they refused, she would to, sell them on the black-market as sex slaves.
Kristin Stinar also interviewed an actor from Connecticut, who also was lured to New York, by an online casting ad, to the same address. She to brought someone with her, and found nothing.
KRISTIN STINAR was also on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch Link =”http://www.bigideadonny.com/” class=”hft-urls”>http://www.bigideadonny.com/ last week to tell about a sex slave ring that posted fake casting call ads on an online modeling and talent agency website. Appearing with her on the show was the actor mentioned above.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS tracks sex slave ring across country.
Here is a link of a news broadcast, made by eye witness news, KRISTIN STINAR. Kudos to Kristin for her bravery in following this through, and I have no doubt it wont be the last well hear about it from her savvy reporting.

FYI– This is very disturbing. I hope everyone on this network, passes this information along. Please, please, please, always use caution when answering to auditions in the news paper, or online. And always trust your instincts. I know its so hard to believe it, but no matter how badly you want to be a star, youll regret it if you let that excitement cloud your judgment.
In relating this story to you, there were some things jumping off the page at me, and I hope they jumped off the page at you to.
Didnt you think it was weird that she was getting an invitation to go from the Midwest, to New York for an audition? NY is congested with actors, agented and not, why would they solicit an actor from 100s of miles away? Why wouldnt they be using New Yorks finest first?
That is a valid question, and there is a simple answer to that. New Yorkers (or even those from LAbig city) stick together, they know whos who.. it would be too easy for the con to get caught, because the New Yorkers, or even from LA, would know too many legitimate people. Someone from out of town would have no way of knowing whose a somebody, and whose not.
Didnt you think she was equally gullible to ask a total stranger from a hotel to accompany her, on a mission to a destination unknown, and unstable? Never pick an escort that you dont know, or dont trust. Lets face it, she could have placed herself in a whole different scene of danger.
Once again, never go to an audition, photo session, or any interview that you are unsure of.. alone. Make sure someone can go with you, and if not make sure that your cell phone is fully charged, you have money for a cab incase your car breaks down, or the bus isnt a quick enough escape route. Make sure someone who pays attention, knows when, and where you will be, and when you expect to be back.
If you are close to arriving to your audition, and the surroundings become dimmer by the moment, and you get that feeling that its just not all right. Turn around and go home, you are an actor, no one is more intone with your instincts than you are.. so listen to it! Missing out on an audition is well worth saving your life.
And one more thing. Any research you do on the net, will pull you in two split corners, and very aggressively I might add about online casting.
In the Left corner: Dead against online casting!
These sites see these companies as scavengers, scums, scam artists. Theyll tell you, REAL casting directors only go through their favorite agents, and legitimate actors. REAL CDs dont have time to waste sifting on the internet, through crappy photos, and unaccredited actors. You will also read repeatedly, that it is illegal for agencies in most states to charge a monthly fee, because in those states its illegal for agents to charge in advance for services, and can only be paid a standard 10% commission
after you get paid. (I have actually said that one myself.)
In the Right corner: Online casting companies.
First and Foremost. Online Casting Companies are not employment agencies, nor are they agents, or casting companies. These sites simply put, are trying to make a happy medium between union and non union film directors who cant afford advertising. They claim they need to charge the actors to keep their sites going, and they claim they need to keep it free for the CDs because the films that do get posted on their sites, have little to no funding. They provide a service to make it easier for actors to track down auditions when they have no agent.
At the end of the day, its up to the actor to do what they feel in their gutt is best. I have seen actors whove taken the Kamitic Acting system, connect with their inner instincts and develop a new confidence. The meditation classes, and truly getting in touch with your inner being, really has enhanced their acting abilities, and it has also sharpened their instincts. They also have grown to trust their judgment through the techniques in self awareness.
Surviving in this mad dog industry, takes gutts, and it takes instinct. As long as the actor is doing whats right by them, and they are being cautious about transacting online, and not running silly with glittery eyes, than go and post my friends. Its exposure! But for goodness sakes, be careful.. We all at the RKA Cinema Society, and no doubt the casting sites, do not want to ever hear of any actors, ever befalling victim to sex tourism.. or scams, nothing but good auditions, and great reviews for all.
Love to all

The term Isle of Wight Tourism conjures up images of sunny beaches, dramatic coastlines and glorious countryside. Isle of Wight tourism brings in an estimated £350 million plus per year, which is vital to the Islands economy. With more people visiting each year, that figure can only rise. The Isle of Wight is the perfect place for a holiday as there are so many things to see and do. Whatever your interests, you will be spoiled for choice and will find that one visit to this special place is never enough. Most people that visit this wonderful island find themselves coming back time and time again which is great for Isle of Wight tourism.
The Isle of Wight is the smallest of Englands counties, with the resident population being around 130,000. To the north lies the Solent and to the south is the English Channel. Known as “The Garden Isle”, this jewel of England indeed resembles a diamond in shape, measuring 23 miles west to east and 13 miles north to south, an area or 147 square miles. The Island is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK, with around one million visitors each year. There is over 60 miles of coastline which ranges from award winning beaches to spectacular chalk cliffs. The Island, which is divided into two boroughs - Medina & South Wight, was known as Vectis by the Romans. Newport is the county town, although Ryde is the largest town. The exact centre of the Island is at Shide Corner, on the outskirts of Newport and the highest point is St. Boniface Down at Ventnor.
Walking on the Isle of Wight is a popular past-time and there are over 500 miles of public footpaths including dramatic coastal paths. The climate here is almost sub-tropical and Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are regularly at the top of the UK sunshine table. Over 50% of the Island has been designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty with about half of the coastline named as Heritage Coast - an honour only awarded to the finest stretches of coastline in the country. Red squirrels have a particular penchant for the surroundings (due to the lack of grey squirrels) and are widely prevalent on the Island - almost the final stronghold in the south of the country.
The most famous landmark here on the Isle of Wight is The Needles - three jagged chalk projections running out to sea at the extreme west of the island at Alum Bay, which is also renowned for its multi-coloured sand cliffs, which are caused by a mixture of minerals in the sand. There is a lighthouse here too, clinging to the base of the most westerly rock of the Needles group. It originally became popular here with tourists over 200 years ago when they used to visit by paddle steamer from the mainland. Another popular landmark is the Bembridge Windmill, the only existing windmill on the Island. It is located at the opposite end of the Island, was built around 1700 and still has its original machinery intact.

Standardization has become vital in the medical world. Professional organizations, non-governmental agencies, and other international institutions work to make sure that medical training, practices and medical equipments are standardized around the world. Medications from prescription drugs to anesthesia are globally available.
Medical tourism is taking advantage of this standardization. Doctors from the developing countries - many of whom have been trained in the US, Canada or UK or a member of any international medical association assure their patients that they will get the same quality treatment as they would get at home, if not better.
India is the most sought after medical tourism destination in the world and much of the credit goes to the Indian doctors on account of their global knowledge on hospital management. India offers characteristically high level of medical tourism, which means that patients coming from abroad enjoy medical care and experiences that are higher than or comparable to standards in their home countries. Another attraction, which drives patients to India, is low-cost treatment. It is estimated that treatment costs in India start at around a tenth of the price of analogous procedures in the United States or UK. Most of the Indian doctors are well educated or practiced in the West; so they are expert in their fields. In many of the developed countries people have to wait for a long period to undergo any sort of surgery. Hence, these countries have developed links with India for fast and low cost treatment for their nationals. The Indian Government has also committed some incentives like fast-track visa for foreign patients.
For patients who are reluctant to travel abroad for treatment, getting a package deal online with various medical tourism service providers would not be a bad idea. This allows you to calculate how much you can save if you get your treatment done in India. No costs are incurred for getting a quote or medical advise over email.
India is developing herself into a competitive market in medical tourism and many experts credit this expansion to its global scope. Indian medical facilities are designed to meet the expectations of world-class tourism. No wonder, medical tourism in India is basking in glorious sunshine today!

Maybe its because its murky depths are one of the few places we havent yet taken over, but the ocean and all creatures that live beneath the waves have long been a fascination of mankind. We depend on the ocean for nourishment that supports live on land. It can hold life or death, and just like the rest of the planet, as it becomes a commercial playground, even its residents become our entertainment. Perhaps whales are interesting because of their mammoth size, or it maybe its because of our shared need for oxygen. Whatever the connection is, whale watching tours have become big business all over the world.
People have probably been watching whales for all of time, hoping to catch rare, brief glimpses of the massive creatures while out casting their nets, but whale watching as an organized activity dates back to the early 1950s. The first groups observed the creatures from the land. The Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego was designated as the very first official place for the public to watch whales. A few years later, the premier water-based tour was established, charging $1 per customer.
Over the past five decades, the pastime of whale watching has grown to enjoy increasing popularity on East Coast of the United States as well. There are large groups of Humpback Whales near some of the larger cities near the Atlantic, a breed famous for its playful, grand guests. Its diving and tail slapping are sure to draw a happy crowd. Their close proximity to clusters of people makes them a convenient spectacle. The trend has continued to expand and, according to a 1998 study, is now operating to some extent in more than 80 countries all over the world.
There are many different breed of whales throughout the worlds waters, and at least as many ways to observe them. You can stay on dry land, appreciate and aerial view from a small plane or helicopter, or even take a cruise. You can kill an hour, an entire day, or a couple of weeks. It can cost up to thousands of dollars per person, or as little as it takes to buy a movie ticket.
If a whale watching excursion is part of your vacation itinerary, it might be a good idea not to schedule very strictly on the day of your tour. The ocean is not the same as going to the zoo. You will be dealing with real, untamed animals that are not going to conform to a time slot. It is very much a hurry up and wait kind of activity, and as such, may not be appropriate for smaller children.
Like many of our natural resources, some kinds of whales have been hunted to near extinction. Most animal rights and environmental groups support whale watching activities because they draw attention to the problem without being very invasive to the animals. A little good press can go along way to making people realize what a precious resource nature is. Having the opportunity to witness the majesty of whales in their natural habitat is the best way to impress upon people what is at stake if we take no steps to protect the animals and their homes.

In early December of 2007 I decided to embark on a three day winter getaway to Niagara Falls, Ontario. In order to explore the city in the best possible way I contacted the experts at Niagara Falls tourism to help me work out a comprehensive itinerary to explore the many facets of Niagara Fall. Their travel specialists helped me put together a packed schedule that exposed me to many interesting sights and activities in this unique city.
My three-day adventure included a thrilling helicopter sightseeing tour, an encounter with nature at the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory and at Bird Kingdom, the world’s largest aviary. I sampled culture and entertainment in a magic show at the Greg Frewin Theatre and a musical production at the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Theatre.
I also got up close to the majestic Niagara Falls, viewed them from the Skylon Tower and saw an Imax movie called “Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic” which presented an interesting dramatization of Niagara Falls’ colourful history. I also checked out some of the actual vessels used by real-life daredevils who went over the Falls and explored the tunnels that take you behind the big cascade of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls in the Journey Behind The Falls experience.
Naturally I sampled some of Niagara Falls hospitality offerings: from my convienent accommodation at the Best Western Cairn Croft to the cozy luxury of the Kilpatrick Manor Bed and Breakfast to a variety of culinary experiences, I got a good idea of Niagara Falls’ broad tourist offering. And of course I explored Clifton Hill - Niagara Fall’s most popular tourist promenade with its gift shops, wax museums, haunted houses, restaurants, hotels and themed attractions.
I even partook of the gambling experience at the Fallsview Casino Resort, a giant top-modern mind-boggling gaming, shopping and entertainment complex. There were so many more things on the list that I could have done, but three days were simply not enough to sample it all.
To help you with your own plans for a visit to Niagara Falls, Ontario, here is an interview with Anna Pierce, the Executive Director of Niagara Falls Tourism who has graciously agreed to provide a general overview of Niagara Falls and everything it has to offer:
1. Please provide us with some general information about Niagara Falls, Ontario. Where is it located and how can I get there? How big is the population of Niagara Falls, Ontario? How do I get around the city?
Niagara Falls is located between Lakes Erie and Ontario sharing a border with New York State. To get to Niagara Falls from the United States, visitors can travel by car over one of three bridges: The Rainbow, Peace or Queenston-Lewiston Bridges. Three international airports service the area: Buffalo in the US, Hamilton and Toronto. Buffalo and Hamilton airports are approximately 40 minutes drive and Toronto is just over one hour away. Via Rail/Amtrak also provide service directly into Niagara Falls.
2. Niagara Falls has a very interesting history. Please give us a brief historical overview of this unique city.
Niagara Falls was first brought to the attention of the European explorers when Father Hennepin was shown the wonder by Native Americans. It was named the Honeymoon Capital of the World after Napoleon Bonapartes brother spent his honeymoon here.
Annie Edson Taylor was the first person to go over the Falls in a barrel. She was hoping this feat would make her rich and famous. She died penniless. Since then, several attempts have been made to conquer the Falls. Unfortunately, more have failed than succeeded they never lived to tell the tale. Attempting any such daredevil exhibitions now is illegal and comes with an extremely hefty fine.
Several battles of the War of 1812 (the only war the American Army ever lost) were fought here. Laura Secord, a settler’s wife, played a prominent role in that war before the chocolate company made her famous. She overheard US troops planning an ambush against the British and walked over 20 miles in enemy territory to inform British Troops of the impending attacks. Although she received little recognition for her heroism during her lifetime, today Laura Secord is considered to be a Canadian folk hero.
3. Please tell us about one of the most significant attractions in Niagara Falls - the majestic waterfalls themselves. What makes them special and how can I experience them?
Our Falls are special in so many ways, but the most important is the sheer volume of water that flows over the brink. 600,000 gallons per second, in fact. The Falls is NOT the tallest in the world. It only measures 170 feet deep and 2200 feet wide. The best way to experience the Falls is to make sure you view it from ABOVE, BELOW AND BESIDE. Aerial views via tower or helicopter show how it all works. The Maid of the Mist provides the absolute best vantage point below the brink and the Journey Behind the Falls or Table Rock Point give you the best possible view from beside the Wonder. You have to experience all three to truly understand just how spectacular the Falls are.
4. What type of sightseeing opportunities do I have in Niagara Falls?
Niagara Falls offers a wide variety of Sightseeing Opportunities that centre around the Falls as well as many other wonders. We offer Winery Tours featuring Niagaras World renown ice Wines, biking and hiking along the Niagara Escarpment, wildlife viewing at Marineland, ZOOZ, the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory, the Bird Kingdom, gaming at one of two Vegas-style Casinos. You name it, we have it.
5. Niagara Falls also has a number of attractions that appeal to nature lovers, featuring birds, butterflies and elaborately designed parks and gardens. Please provide us with further information about these attractions.
I would suggest checking out the following websites for more information on these great attractions:
www.niagaraparks.com
www.niagarafallsaviary.com
Most of the gardens in the Niagara Parks system can be accessed free of charge. For example, their School of Horticulture, the Greenhouse Collection, Queen Victoria Park, and many others.
6. What kind of museums and locations of historic interest does Niagara Falls, Ontario, have to offer?
We have several museums in and around Niagara Falls. The Clifton Hill area is filled with many novelty museums including Louis Tussauds, Ripleys Believe It or Not, Guinness World Records Museum and a few haunted houses sprinkled in. The Lundys Lane Historical Museum houses memorabilia from the War of 1812. One of the battlefields of that war is also located on Lundys Lane and is said to be one of the most haunted cemeteries in Canada. The Laura Secord Homestead is also open to the public as are two forts one in Niagara-on-the-Lake and one in Fort Erie. Both were strategic outposts for British troops fighting the attempted invasion from the US.
7. Niagara Falls, Ontario, offers many opportunities to travellers who like the casino and gaming experience. Please tell us more.
Niagara Falls is home to two Casinos: Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino Resort. The Fallsview Casino is a showpiece in and of itself. It houses over 3000 slot machines and 150 game tables, world-class big-name entertainment in the Avalon Ballroom, and great shopping in the Galleria Mall.
8. What other entertainment options and attractions does Niagara Falls, Ontario, have to offer? What are some of the main entertainment areas? What about theme parks?
Clifton Hill offers great family entertainment: museums, arcades, rides including the newest arrival: the SkyWheel (a ferris wheel which is a smaller version of the EYE in London with air conditioned and heated pods providing great views of the Falls).
Many of our hoteliers are opting to add or build indoor waterparks to add to their existing offerings. We have the Great Wolf Lodge Resort, Waves at the Americana Resort and the Sheraton on the Falls Fallsview Waterpark. All three provide visitors with indoor thrills for year-round fun. They each have several waterslides, a wave pool and the mandatory Giant Bucket. The Fallsview and Waves are both open to the public.
9. What options are there for nightlife in Niagara Falls, Ontario? What about theatre offerings, shows and special performances?
Nightlife is fantastic here in Niagara. In addition to the great outdoor and indoor pubs, clubs and karaoke bars, we have several great shows available. The Oh Canada, Eh? Dinner Theatre features great Canadian music paired with a fantastic dinner. Greg Frewin is a master magician whose show is sure to please the entire family. We also have several comedy shows and blockbuster performances at the Fallsview Casino.
10. Niagara Falls is embedded in one of Canada’s most popular wine regions and the entire area is often referred to as the “Breadbasket of Ontario”. Please tell us more about the areas surrounding Niagara Falls.
The Niagara Escarpment is located in the Niagara Fruitbelt. This area is some of the most fertile land in the country. We have a microclimate in the Niagara Region which is ideal for growing fruit. The temperatures in the Fruitbelt are generally 10 degrees less than the surrounding area. Frost is always a consideration. This is why you will see windmills in the middle of fields throughout the region. The windmills are used to break up the frost which is so dangerous to the fruit especially grapes.
11. What types of festivals and special events highlight the yearly calendar in Niagara Falls, Ontario?
In September we celebrate the grape harvest with the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival. In winter, our Niagara Parks are illuminated with over 2 million twinkling lights. The Winter Festival of Lights is filled with animated lighting displays featuring Disney Characters. The celebration culminates with a free New Years Eve Party in Queen Victoria Park.
12. What type of accommodation options are available in Niagara Falls?
Niagara Falls offers accommodation from 2 to 4 star hotels to bed and breakfasts from cottage rentals to campgrounds from budget to luxury.
13. Please describe the culinary options available in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Our signature culinary experience is, of course, Fallsview Dining. The Skylon Tower offers the best view from their Revolving Dining Room, but the Keg Steakhouse, a Cut Above and the Watermark Restaurant all boast excellent food with a view. Dining at the brink of the Falls is also available at the Table Rock House. In Niagara-on-the-Lake the vineyard cafes and restaurants are some of the best in Southern Ontario. The chefs in these restaurants pride themselves in offering recipes featuring meats and produce grown in the Niagara Region.
14. Please tell us about the shopping opportunities in Niagara Falls.
Canada One Factory Outlet, the Fallsview Galleria, the Penn Centre and Niagara Square Malls are all within 15 minutes of the Falls. Niagara-on-the-Lake has many quaint one-of-a-kind shops to choose from as well.
15. What outdoor, recreational and sports opportunities are available in and around Niagara Falls? How about golfing?
Niagara Falls has many hiking, biking and roller-blading trails. Water-based sports such as boating, sailing and fishing are also huge draws for us. Niagara Region is also gaining renown as Canadas Golf Capital. We have over 48 Golf Courses both public and private. Several are PGA quality and have been designed by leading course architects. John Daly and Greg Norman have both designed courses in the region.
16. What are some of the big news stories that will be coming up for Niagara Falls in 2008 and beyond?
The biggest news for Niagara Falls is the announcement of a new Convention Centre for Niagara Falls. The details are being finalized as we speak, but they should be breaking ground fairly soon. We are expecting the opening to happen some time in 2010. In short, its an exciting time to be part of Niagara Falls Tourism Industry.
Thank you, Anna, for your taking the time to provide us with this comprehensive information about Niagara Falls. You have given me some great ideas for a summer getaway and I look forward to visiting Niagara Falls again.

HERE’S THE BAD NEWS.
Engines waste gasoline! Up to 80% of the high-priced gas that you pump doesn’t get you anywhere because it goes UNBURNED to the catalytic converter. That means you are getting 0 MPG (zero, zilch, nada) from most of the over-priced gasoline you pump into your tank.
WHY DO COMBUSTION ENGINES WASTE SO MUCH GAS?
That’s what they are designed to do–WASTE GAS–because every second of every day, everywhere in the world, every single gas and diesel engine on the planet puts money into the deep, deep, DEEP pockets of Big Oil.
Automotive and fuel technology has been deliberately held back, and people have been kept in the dark about AMAZING inventions and discoveries, in order to sell us lots of gasoline. Sorry, but that’s how it is.
For example, the gas could be preheated and better formulated for better combustion–but it’s not. The fuel vapor droplets could be smaller for efficient combustion–but they’re not. The pre-set computer-controlled air-to-fuel ratio could be more economical–but it’s not. The exhaust could be reprocessed to contribute to mileage (there are patents on that)–but it’s not. Cars could be using a better carburetor design–but they’re not because the patent for a 100 MPG carburetor was bought and buried years ago. Cars could be running completely on water fuel–but they’re not because those patents were also bought and then buried along with the inventor (however, the patents ran out recently!). Even the hybrids that Big Auto is selling at luxury car prices don’t optimize gasoline combustion and consumption.
HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS.
You can do something about it, ONE CAR AT A TIME, starting with YOUR car.
How? By using ENERGY from WATER.
If that sounds impossible, or crazy, or delusional, I understand. This is something that none of our trusted sources of information–TV, radio, teachers, movies, professors, magazines, dad, scientists, books, Sesame Street–have told us about. Why? See the bad news, above.
I mentioned amazing inventions and discoveries. Many of them have very sophisticated technical patents on them. But the kind of water energy system I am talking about, the one that is affordable and do-able by ME and YOU in OUR cars (not by buying a Big Auto hybrid with a luxury car pricetag), is a do-it-yourself technology, specifically designed for beginners with basic tools and very limited budgets. A working system can be built at home for $20 to $200 worth of parts and installed in your car, truck, or SUV on a weekend. It’s a 90-year-old technology that has been revived and developed into a simple, affordable, SAFE system based on low-cost hardware.
It works like this: The main component of the low-cost water energy system is an electrolyzer-a container of water with electrodes in it. The electrolyzer takes a tiny bit of electricity from your car. The electricity “splits” water into hydroxyl gas and feeds it immediately to the engine cylinders. The improved air/fuel mix gets very efficient combustion.
SPINNING WHEELS, NOT HEADS
Remember the bad news at the top? Remember I said that wasted fuel can be as much as 80%? In other words, even though you have paid $3.50 or more per gallon, you are only getting performance from as little as 20%–two gallons out of every ten–of the gas you pay good money for! It puts a whole new complexion on the phrase “highway robbery.”
Our heads are spinning from rising gas prices. Now imagine instead that ALL your gasoline is working for you–it’s actually turning your wheels and not just being turned into carbon deposits on your engine or exhaust from the catalytic converter. What would it be like for ALL that gasoline to be giving you mileage? It would be a WHOLE LOT MORE ECONOMICAL, that’s what! That’s what happens when you add the energy from water.
SEEING THE SEA OF ENERGY
Wondering how much energy is in water?
One gallon of water converts to approximately 1,833 gallons of combustible gas. One observer noted that a gallon of water in his water energy system lasted for about 2,700 miles.
“Energy from water” is hard to believe because we are misled by the appearance of water when it’s liquied. It looks so, well, WET and noncombustible. But if we could SEE the sea of energy in the water–zillions of hydrogen and oxygen atoms ready to break out and be combustible gas under the right conditions–it would be easy to conceive that, indeed, water can be “burned” in an engine, thus taking advantage of a new “crude”–plain water.
Why aren’t scientists telling us about this? Why doesn’t it make big headlines? More bad news. Some of them just don’t know about it, and some are paid to tell us about anything BUT this. Also, scientists are sometimes far behind empirical evidence from experimenters and inventors. Sometimes a true scientist makes an amazing discovery and is suddenly way ahead of everyone. What happens then? He or she has to fight all the other scientists that are way behind or too vested in the old paradigm. So who are the true scientists around here? A TRUE scientist could be anyone, including a scientist.
THE LAW OF CONSERVATION
Here is something to ponder from Patrick J. Kelly of Link =”http://www.PanaceaUniversity.org” class=”hft-urls”>http://www.PanaceaUniversity.org. He has a delightful way of tilting one’s mind out of its box:
“The Law of Conservation of Energy is undoubtedly correct when it shows that more energy cannot be taken out of any system than is put into that system. However, that does not mean that WE cannot get more energy out of a system than WE put into it. A crude example is a solar panel in sunlight. We get electrical power out of the panel but we do not put the sunlight into the panel-the sunlight arrives on its own. This example is simple as we can see the sunlight reaching the solar panel.
“If, instead of the solar panel, we had a device which absorbs some of the energy that Quantum Mechanics observes and then gives out, say, electrical power, would that be so different? Most people say “yes!–it is impossible!” but this reaction is based on the fact that we cannot see this sea of energy. Should we say that a TV set cannot possibly work because we cannot see a television transmission signal?”
BUT ISN’T IT DANGEROUS?
We have been living and driving with danger for decades–it’s called GASOLINE! Cars and trucks are planet-polluting bombs on wheels! But we are accustomed to it, right? And for the most part, we don’t blow ourselves up.
But in the water energy system, I know, you think we’re talking about tanks of compressed hydrogen in the car, but that’s not how it is done! Here’s the beauty of it:
Hydrogen is already compressed in plain water!
All we do in a water for fuel system is UNCOMPRESS and USE it–immediately, on-demand, in the engine! No hydrogen bombs on board. Just a container of distilled water! And the exhaust is–WATER! You split water, you burn it, you get fantastic mileage, you get a little water left over.
GREEN TECHNOLOGY
You can’t get much greener than this unless you go for an engine designed to run completely on water, like the one that was designed and proven by Stanley Meyers when he drove across the United States on approximately 28 gallons of water. (You can see interviews with him on YouTube.) You can’t get much more affordable, either. And because this is GREEN technology, and you will not be causing any damage to the car or the engine (far from it), your warranty will most likely be intact AND the government will owe you money for going green!
INSTALL WATER ENERGY SYSTEM, DROP JAW
You could pay someone to install your water for gas system. There are hundreds of people around the world who are constructing and installing water energy systems, as well as driving “watercars” themselves. These people save gas, save money, get much better mileage, and enjoy smoother-running engines and greatly reduced emissions. And that’s why they are happy to do the same for you so you can save gas, save money, get much better mileage, and enjoy a smoother-running engine and reduced emissions.
Or you could do it yourself, in which case you would first get instructions, which are available on line. Then you would make a parts list and buy the parts from hardware and electronics stores. Third, you would construct the components of the water energy system, put them all together, and install the system, making all the necessary adjustments to it. You would now be the proud owner of a Water Hybrid Vehicle. And last, after picking up your jaw from the floor, where it has dropped in astonishment at your engine’s mileage and performance, you would become an advocate of water energy, as I have.
BETTER COMBUSTION FOR THE MIND
To really grasp the implications and possibilities here, we must first clean the carbon deposits out of our minds. Using waterfuel is an approach to our cars and fuel that requires more participation from us. The whole water energy system consists of physical components PLUS your mind and attitudes about fuel consumption. To really optimize your waterfuel system, you will also be using fuel warmer, some Kiker wires to improve the spark, Xylene to add to your gasoline, a low-friction synthetic motor oil, a couple bottles of fuel treatment to clean carbon deposits from old unburned fuel out of your engine, a MAP sensor enhancer to keep the car computer from over-correcting the fuel mix back to over-rich, tires that are always fully inflated, and a real-time mileage tracker so that you won’t have to use an entire tank of gas to know what mileage you are getting.
Perhaps the most important thing is this:
Trust yourself.
When you use an “alternative” fuel-efficiency system, you are an experimenter who is going against the herd and chances are, you are going to get some flack. Don’t be fooled by self-appointed “experts” who don’t have hands-on experience and say it can’t be done. When they laugh or frown or condescend and say, “It’s scientifically impossible,” well, first of all, you know they are not “true scientists” (so why are they acting like they know what “scientifically” means?). Ask them if they have ever tried it themselves. You will find they have not. Further discussion might be fruitless, but you can try. Tell them to just wait and see. See for yourself. Don’t wait ten years for big industry to do it because they don’t want to GIVE you anything–they are only thinking about what they can GET from you while they continue making empty promises.
WHAT CAN A WATER ENERGY SYSTEM REALLY DO FOR ME?
Well
How much will gas cost the next time you fill your tank?
A water energy system won’t lower the price of ALL gasoline.
It will lower the price of YOURS. But don’t just take my word for it.
